These fish would be in the bushes if they were not 30 yards across dry ground. I have never seen the trees so green and the water so warm this early.
I thought fishing was a little tough on Wednesday. Current was ripping and most of the fish I caught were relating to that. Thursday was a lot better day. I would never encourage someone to fish in thunderstorms, but man do the fish bite in the spring when they are rolling through. The current slacked off and the fish want to move up, there is just not a lot for them to get on. You can literally catch fish any way you want to fish. There are some out deep some shallow, some on rock, on gravel, on wood, in creeks, main lake, backs of creeks, on the sides of creeks, and in the mouths. Best lures depend on where you fish. Alabama rig, XR 50's, and medium crank baits have been the staples for me. I am looking forward to a great spring. I have spring dates left in April and a few in May and June.
Good luck,
Curt McGuire
