Crappie
Kentucky Lake water level 356, water temp 62. With cooler temperatures
the crappie have started moving back into the bays. Catching a good
number of crappie casting chartreuse jigs. Most of the crappie are
coming from creek channels in the mouths of the bays. Most of the fish
are coming out of about 10-14 feet of water. The fish seem to be tight
to the cover. Fishing west side of Kentucky Lake. West side has more
color to it.
Bass
Catching a good number of keeper bass on shallow flats. I've been
fishing main lake flats close to deep water, catching most of the fish
on spinner baits. The best flats to fish are the ones with stumps on
them. I do most of my bass fishing this time of year south of the 68
brige. The Blood River area is a good place to start. I also like the
flats in front of Anderson Bay. This time of year all I throw is a half
ounce chartreuse and white spinner bait.
Shell Cracker / Blue Gill
The Blue gill fishing has been unbelievable and the fish are of good
size. Catching the blue gill in brush piles right where the crappie are.
Catching them also on curly tail jigs chartreuse in color.
