Water Temp: 82.7
Water Level: 359.8
Hello everybody!!
Glad to report that
fishing is great!!!
Bass are being caught
everywhere. There are
still a lot of bass
shallow. These fish are
being caught on buzz
baits and top water
baits in the early
morning before the sun
gets high. After the sun
gets up they are biting
spinner baits and ten
inch big worms in the
grass that has four to
six feet of water on it.
Most of the big bass are
being caught on main
lake ledges that are
thirteen to thirty feet
deep. You can catch them
on ten inch big worms
and ¾ ounce jigs.
Chuck Jones and I fished
a tournament Saturday
June 28th. There were
six twenty pound
stringers. We had five
bass that weighted 24.23
to take first place
honors. All of the fish
we caught came off of
deep ledges. They were
caught on ten inch worms
and black and blue ¾
ounce jigs. We were
culling fish at 10:00
a.m. Our biggest bass
weighed 5.65 lbs. But we
did not win big fish
honors. Shawn Penn and
Steve Freeman had a bass
that weighed 7lb Big
Bass.
Bass fishing has been as
good as I have seen it
in a long time. Since
the weather has gotten
hot night fishing has
started to get a lot
better to!!! Call if you
are interested in a
night bass trip. We do
guide night trips!!!
Now that the water is
getting in to the 80’s
the white bass and
stripers are really
starting to get cranked
up. Check out the
striper pictures on my
web page. They are the
biggest we have ever
caught!!!! My mom caught
a 24 pound one! There is
a picture of this fish
on my web page. I guided
July 1st for four hours
in the morning. We
limited out on whites
and stripers. We had 9
BIG stripers. The
littlest one weighted
7lbs, the biggest
weighted 17lbs.
There are also pictures
of these on my web page.
The date is on the
bottom of the picture so
you can see when it was
taken. Most of the fish
was caught on 3/8 ounce
Roster tails. They seem
to like the 20 to 25
foot if they are pulling
water. They will get a
little shallower.
Blue gill fishing was
good during the full
moon of June. But now
the ones you catch are
on the small side.
Crappie fishing is
pretty tough rite now.
With the water in the
80’s they seem to be
doing a lot of
suspending in open
water. You can still
catch a few, if you want
to work at it.
Remember now is time to
book the fall fishing
packages at Cozy Cove.
Give Danna a call and
she will hook you up!!!
