Hello friends. Do we need to offer further proof that our lakes are the greatest in the country? The Elite Series was here last week and was won with 97 lbs, for four days, almost a 25 lb per day average. The FLW Tour is here this week, and 70 lbs is leading after three days, a 23 lb per day average. On our last trip we caught over 90 fish, with a big bass of 7 lbs 2 ounces, simply incredible. It is indeed a blessing to live this close to such a wonderful natural resource.
The bass are established on the ledges, no question. Presently they are situated on the tops in the 8 - 12 ft range, but as the water warms I suspect they'll start positioning on the tips and points of the underwater bars in the deeper water. Our big fish have come out of 22 ft of water and they'll push on down even further as it gets hotter. Crank baits, jigs, and worms are all catching fish, and I mean lots of fish. If you want to introduce a youngster to fishing, this is the way to go about it. A carolina rig is easy to throw and easier to fish. And right now the fish seem to eat anything we rig on it.
The whites are schooling on the ledges and adjacent flats. Seen a few jumps and a lot of locals filling freezers. Rooster tails and in line spinners will catch all you want.
We haven't had a crappie or bluegill trip lately, but if I was going after crappie I would go vertical over deep main lake brush.
Few dates in July remain, love to have you.
Our resort boasts the finest lodging accommodations on the entire lakes, with dining and activities for the entire family, in case you have non-fishermen in your group. We look forward to seeing you
