OVERVIEW
KentuckyLake.com is owned and operated by Kentucky Lake Online Inc. (KLO)
located at beautiful Kentucky Lake. KLO was created in 1996 in response to
the need for Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley information on the World Wide
Web. At that time, there was absolutely no information to be found on the
Internet about Kentucky Lake or Lake Barkley. The Internet was just getting
popular and people were surfing for vacation spots yet Kentucky Lake did not
exist in cyberspace. The decision was made that there must be a change.
So, that is how the story begins. We decided to show the world what a great
place this lake region is!
Since 1996, KLO has been, and
continues to be, the largest, most popular web site on the Internet for this
region. We have accumulated information for the past 9 years on KentuckyLake.com and we now have 1,000’s of web pages full of information
and photos. We are the largest source of tourist and lake information in
this region and undoubtedly, our site statistics prove we are the most
popular with traffic that soars up to 2.4 million hits a month, yes that is
over two million hits! Think of the opportunities.
As we grow forward, our plans
are to go beyond Western Kentucky and create an online community of
services, that services the Great State of Kentucky. We are committed to
providing you with the services and tools that will allow your business to
grow and succeed.

The Founders
The founders of KLO, Mark and Kathy Wood, grew up playing on the water of
both Barkley and Kentucky lake. Seeing the opportunity of the World Wide
Web, they solicited the area businesses and created Kentucky Lake.com (KLO).
The site grew and became the portal for the world to learn about the lakes
and what they have to offer. The site started generating additional business
for the local lodges and fishing communities.
Due to it’s popularity, the site
has become one of the largest websites in western Kentucky. In 2003, Mark
and Kathy got to purchase one of the larger marinas, THE MOORS. With time
being a precious commodity, KLO was not getting the attention it deserved.
So, they made the decision to sell it.
The Present
In the spring of 2004, Matt White and Dieter Spears along with their wives,
Stephanie White and Donna Spears became the proud new owners of Kentucky
Lake Online Inc. Each of them brings extensive and differing qualities to
business. Matt is partners in Morgan, Trevathan & Gunn, Inc., a local and
very successful Insurance and Real Estate Company. His understanding of
marketing and running a large company will only make KLO a larger and more
effective company. Dieter Spears is the owner and Creative Director for
Inhaus Creative, a creative design firm in Nashville, Tennessee. His graphic
and web expertise will help drive the creative side of KLO. Matt and Dieter
understand the needs of Business Owners, and want to create a resource for
the growth of Business. David Alvey, a veteran of KLO, is staying on board.
He is the face and creative force that KLO customers have come to rely on.
His understanding and involvement in the online experience is second to
none. Stephanie is going to oversee daily operations of KLO. We
all are dedicated to the growth of KentuckyLake.com. We are going to
generate more traffic and sales of your online community. Feel free to get
