The 6th Annual Veteran's Crappie Tournament will be held at Sunset Marina on Kentucky Lake on April 17th. 2-3 persons per boat with one needing to be a captain. At least one angler needs to be a veteran on a two-person boat, with two veterans on a three-person boat. Weight your seven best fish and biggest crappie! You can register Friday night and launch at first light. You must be present at weigh-in. Smallest weight earns $75. Entry free is $40 per boat. Attention all homeschoolers! Homeschool Day is a day packed full of hands-on STEAM activities to enhance your students' knowledge and understanding of the natural world. This year's theme is Art in Nature! Your students will stretch their artistic skills through activities that combine different art mediums with nature observation, biology, math, and more.

All ages are welcome. A full schedule of programming will be available by April 1st. All activities are included with regular Nature Station admission. No pre-registration is required.

Just like in the olden days, it takes a community to make our heirloom gardens productive and delicious. While you volunteer, you will get the chance to learn all about heirloom crops, old fashioned gardening techniques, and how the harvests were baked and canned. Although taking care of an old fashioned heirloom garden is lots of fun, it can also be hard work! Volunteers need to be comfortable with walking on uneven ground, working in outdoor conditions, and having limited access to cell phone service. Don't forget to pack a water, some sunscreen, and a snack.

Civil War Living history days will begin at 9:00 am camps will open and be open until 5:00 pm. We will have camps set up with stations for students to stop, see, and interact with in period time. There will be Soldiers, Artillery firing, a field Surgeon, and other setups to relive history. There will be 1860's games for the students (and Adults) to participate in and learn how they lived and played. We will have period Music on the grounds also.

On Saturday night May 2 at 6:00pm we will have a Historical ghost walk, this is a tour around the grounds where we have historical people from around the area to tell you the history of their life in first person, a lot of history about the area and people you still hear of now. We set this up as a Portal to teach school children and home school students. Please come see us.
