Songs of the South a tribute to Alabama formed in 2019. Comprised of 5 members from the Mountains of Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Members include Wayne Kelley on lead vocals/rhythm guitar, Jerry Hanger drums/vocals, Mike Thacker lead guitar/vocals, Chris Kelley bass/vocals, Don Stevens lead guitar, keyboards, fiddle and vocals. This group has been performing together for over 20 years and has played more than 1,500 shows. Our goal is to put on a show that is energetic, upbeat, and takes you back to when you heard these songs for the first time. We want to make you clap, dance, sing along, and leave you wanting more. Your crowd will be on their feet! This show goes non-stop! It Includes many #1 hits with a touch of comedy that lets you get to know the band on a personal level. It will be a night to remember with the ultimate tribute to Alabama! "Christmas In Dixie" features the Christmas Hits of Alabama. Christmas is the first Christmas album by country band Alabama. The album was released on RCA Nashville in 1985. It was certified double platinum for shipment of 2 million units by the Recording Industry Association of America on July 11, 1996.

Be part of our nation's longest-running citizen science project-the Christmas Bird Count! Volunteer birders throughout the western hemisphere join in this winter bird census, and you can take part here in Land Between the Lakes. Both experienced and beginner birders are welcome. We'll meet at Nature Station and organize into teams to include everyone. Then head into the field to look and listen for birds! You can go out for just the morning or spend the full day. All data goes to National Audubon Society's science programs which track long-term trends in bird populations. Bring a sack lunch and meet back for our lunchtime roundup of the morning's sightings. Registration is requested. Bring binoculars, a field guide, and lunch. Dress for weather. There is an optional extension until 4:30pm.

Join this van tour to discover favorite bays, shorelines, and roosting spots of bald eagles. We’ll search for these majestic birds, as they soar through the sky and perch in the trees, and maybe even catch one in action hunting for fish! Our naturalists will help you spot eagles and other wildlife, as well as zoom in with spotting scopes for a closer look. Cost is $20 per person and reservations are required by calling 270-924-2020. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars. Moderate walking may be required.
