BARGE ISLAND
Barge Island is a small tract of land just off Barge Island Recreation Area. The water in between the two is very shallow. It is not recommended anyone tries to cross this area by boat. (Although I did once take my chances at summer pool at top speed on a PWC and made it. Don't try this unless you are willing to suck in some sand and rock!)
Barge Island Recreation Area is located on Hwy 962, about 5.5 miles off Hwy 68. It hosts a two-lane concrete ramp, paved and lighted parking for approximately 20 rigs, launching pier, restrooms, picnic areas and tent/trailer campsites.
