BIRMINGHAM

While on the west side of Kentucky Lake, look past Barge Island and you will see the general area of Birmingham. Birmingham was a town that was flooded when Kentucky Dam was built. There are several foundations left from buildings. One in particular can be seen at the water surface, or just below, during winter pool. Some say this foundation is the old Birmingham School's foundation, while others say it is belonged to a church. Anyone with any information or old maps of Birmingham are encouraged to write us at kylake@apex.net so we may share more information on the history of Kentucky Lake.

Birmingham Ferry used to cross from the town of Birmingham, across the river channel, to the east shore which is now Land Between the Lakes.
