THE ROCK QUARRY and PISGAH BAY ENTRANCES
This picture was taken from the main lake entrance to Pisgah Bay. There is a narrow penninsula that separates the entrance to the Rock Quarry and Pisgah Bay. Many times in the past, when entering the Rock Quarry, you would see a very familiar raccoon on the shoreline of this thin finger of land. This raccoon, being of extremely smart nature, had learned to sit and look cute as the many boaters passed by for a day of fun in the quarry. So many boaters had stopped to see the raccoon and offer him tidbits of chips, sandwiches and snacks, that he knew how to play this game. We once stopped and fed him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He came right up to us in a friendly manner. However, please bear in mind these are wild animals and should not be approached nor fed.
